Hope vs. Anxiety

The news reflects how America is increasingly viewed as a secular nation, yet various Christian organizations report a massive spike in an interest in prayer. People are online, seeking hope through prayer for themselves and the world at large. As Christian history has shown, in times of crisis, many will turn to prayer. So, as a believer, how can I make hope a visible attribute – how can I provoke conversation about prayer that will elicit a steadfast trust in God? Everyone will go through a storm in their life. And hope is God's divine antidote to anxiety and fear. It is just what we all need!

“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith—that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God."  EPHESIANS 3:14-19

It is through Christian fellowship and prayer that the believer and the church will come to know the infinite reach of Christ's love. This love is powerful to transcend everything we know or see. To every family. To every hurting soul. Christ desires to fill us with himself. So let us not grow weary of praying for (and with) others, that the people's hearts will be full of the love of God in Christ Jesus.
