Headshot SunflowersWHAT, WHO AND WHERE

Seeds of Faith is a faith walk in action and is (now) just one person, Myrna Shere. She is committed to living a life that follows the teachings, example, and personhood of Jesus Christ. There is no far-reaching agenda, other than living less for herself and more for God, who gave her life.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

Seeds of Faith - WV began as a private home-based prayer group in Peoria,  Glendale, and Surprise, the west valley of Phoenix metro. We met to discuss time-related topics presented by Myrna, as the facilitator. The group's exchanges were open and intentional, to bring our focus onto individual faith walks and relationships with God and others. We then prayed, relying on the Holy Spirit to guide our hearts and minds as we brought our praises and petitions before our Heavenly Father.

Our group was small, mostly born out of a need for Christian fellowship during and following the 2020 closure of churches and other meaningful activities. This intimate gathering of women enabled us to build trust and friendship as a sisterhood. We were not tied to a specific denomination. We were each one, serving our Triune God, who is the One who united us.

We had events every year, which included Prayer Walks and Acts of Service in a handful of local charities and nonprofits that best reflected our group's interests and concerns. These were also good opportunities for inviting friends and loved ones to come along.

WHAT IS NEXT?

2025 brings a blank slate to Seeds of Faith. Currently, Myrna is developing an informal Bible Study as requested by a friend who lives in CA. The topic she wanted was Revelation -- not an easy one to jump into for even the seasoned follower of Christ! So Seeds of Faith is now developing an online-friendly Bible Study for intimate dialogues and learning about how to study the Bible. It is being structured for believers who have not actively sought the Bible as their number one reference for living a godly life, but now want to and aren't sure where to start.

What else? Every day is a new day with Jesus. Although the calendar now looks emptier without SOF meetings and activities, the idea of praying with wide-open eyes means there is always an opportunity to invest in others by sharing faith and hope. So the ministry didn't end as members moved on, it just downsized to one.

Time to time a new Reflection will likely be added because God is always showing His followers new things. And some of them are meant to be shared with others.

And pray for us, that God may open a door for our message, so that we may proclaim the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains. COLOSSIANS 4:3
